Estèe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex from $141

What’s in it?

A serum of firsts, ANR, has a rich history. Estèe Lauder was one of the first beauty companies to link DNA damage and skin ageing, and the ingredients help address these concerns. A yeast extract from fermentation Bifida bacteria, named Bifida ferment lysate, a probiotic that helps strengthens the skin's barrier function, keeping moisture in and irritants out. A peptide or protein that works to boost your collagen production, firming the skin and reducing the look of open pores. Hyaluronic acid (that brilliant moisturiser that draws moisture to the skin), as well as a range of plant-based antioxidants to give your skin added protection when exposed to the light.

You are never too young or too old to start using a serum like this, especially one that has been around for 38 years - don’t you think?

How does it work?

While the word 'night' appears on the bottle, you can also use this serum during the day and in several different ways. Pressed onto the skin after cleansing to hydrate instantly, I often mix a drop with my foundation and or concealer - to prevent makeup pooling in those fine lines. It's also an excellent skin primer under makeup; its slightly tacky texture forms a nourishing film on the skin that lasts all day. It soothes sunburn and windburn, I have even used it to take the heat out of a cooking burn. It's a tremendous all-around nourishing skin boosts for skin at any age, slotting into any routine. It has been in my bathroom on and off for over 20 years, simply because it gives my skin that lit-from-within looking-glow. You're never too young or too old to start using a serum like this, especially one that has been around for 38 years - don't you think?

It’s also a great skin primer under makeup; its slightly tacky texture forms a nourishing film on the skin that lasts all day. It has soothed sunburn and windburn on my skin (and my two sons after a day by the pool), and it has even taken the heat out of a cooking burn. It’s a great all-around nourishing skin boosts for skin at any age. It has been in my bathroom on and off for over 20 years, for giving my skin a lit-from-within looking-glow.
