Linen is nothing new. However, it's made a big comeback for the home. For the kitchen, to the living room, or to create a luxurious look in your bedroom, it's fair to say we are crushing on this glorious fabric finish. Here's how to get the linen vibe in your home.
While linen may look robust, it does need to be treated with care.
Here are our top tips:
Remove any stains before washing. Oily grease stains from body lotion, are common on sheets. Spot clean with a mild baby or sunlight soap first: Wet the spot, apply the soap, and gently massage into the stain, then place separately in a cool wash, always line dry.
Harsh detergent weakens linen over time. Use a baby wash or fragrance-free powder or liquid.
Don't use fabric softeners in your linen wash; this will coat linen and make it appear shiny once dry. Also avoid dryer sheets as they create pilling.
Wash separately, do not mix linen with clothes that have metal zips or rough finishes, as it will cause pilling and tiny holes.
