The tan that won't break the bank

When it comes to tanning, we fake it here at BeautyEQ. One of the tans we often reach for is made by our friends across the ditch. The team unveil their faves in the Bondi Sands range.

Liquid Gold, $26.

Firstly, for me it's the smell of this spray that has me hooked. It's so pleasant and makes a welcome change from some selftan that smell akin to cooking meat. I always exfoliate my skin first, before applying a light lotion (I use Avène Trixeria), and then I either spray onto the palm of my hand or straight onto my skin -  and rub in. The tinted formula allows is a brilliant guide to where you've applied  the tan, the coconut scent lasts around an hour, and results last for at lease three days.

Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk, $20.

I am naturally quite fair, so a dark tan tends to look ridiculous on me. I am always on the hunt for a gradual tan that soaks in seamlessly and develops into a light wash of bronze on my pale skin. This milk has become a firm fave for me and is a constant in my daily skincare regime. On the seventh day of applying, I like to give my skin a thorough exfoliation to remove old tan, before starting the process over again.

SELF TANNING FOAM - DARK, $26.

I am lucky enough to have olive skin naturally, so I reach for a darker self tan to really pack some punch. This tanning foam works a treat. I team it with my tanning mitt to avoid any staining, and apply all over from the neck down to my feet. The dark mousse is a great guide to where I have and haven't applied the formula, and dries pretty fast. I always wear darker loose clothing after applying, to ensure this darker formulation doesn't transfer onto lighter clothing.

SELF TANNING MIST LIGHT/MEDIUM, $25.

When it comes to tanning, I am a bit in the dark (excuse the pun). It's not normally part of my regime. So when I was asked to give this one a go, I was hesitant. Thankfully, I found this mist so easy to apply - I spritzed it straight onto my skin and rubbed it in. The result was a really natural-looking tan ideal for a first-timer like me and the results lasted a good week.
