Cream blush leaves the most flattering and natural looking flush of colour on cheeks. As a mainstay to your beauty wardrobe, editor Trudi Brewer swears by investing in a creamy blush.
By far the most flattering blush to wear, creamy blush adds luminosity, contour and a highlight to skin instantly. Here's our blush tips and favourtie creams.
1. Blush is designed to give a hint of colour on cheeks that leaves skin looking radiant and youthful. Place the colour where rosiness appears on skin or your natural flush would first appear if you were exercising or blushing. If you're not sure, smile to push the apples of the cheeks upward, and then, place the colour on the soft pad of skin that lies directly below the pupil of the eye, and then blend outward, toward the ear.
2. The more liquid the product, the easier it is to apply. For a dense cream blush use a brush and buff it into skin. For a soft emulsion blend onto the skin with the fingers.
3. Pink is the most flattering colour on anyone. To find the perfect match, aim for a shade that is two shades darker than the natural skin tone of your lips (without lipstick).
4. For contouring with cream blush choose a brown, pink tone, and run the colour just under the cheekbone, and then buff away any lines. Follow with a pink cream on top of the cheekbone, this acts as a spotlight to highlight the contouring. Be sure to blend both shades together, either with your fingertips or a clean fluffy blush brush.
