I find it hard to be faithful to one skincare brand. Not only because it's my job to trial, test and review what's on offer at beauty counters, I get skincare fatigue. I think my skin responds well to change, however, there are some products I would never be without - most recently it's the cosmeceutical line Osmosis. After six weeks of constant use, it has changed the look and feel of my skin. Their ethos is to treat skin from the inside - out, working alongside our bodies immune system, using tried and tested ingredients to ignite visible repair. Here's my picks from the range, how this skincare works and why it's proving to be pretty hard to live without.
My routine
What is it?
Clear Plus+ (Activating Hydration Mist), $68.
It took a while for me to get my head around this toner/essence - it's called an activating hydrating mist that you spritz on skin before applying any of the products in the range. It's a calming harmonised water (full of calming plant extracts) known as a universal facial conditioner. If you're confused don't be, think of it as a hydrating water that helps calm and instantly nourishes skin, while helping the ingredients in the serums and moisturisers penetrate faster and deeper into the skin.
What is it?
Immerse Moisture Booster, $135.
Now my skin has had a taste of this oil, I can't live without it. A potent blend of raspberry, vitamin E, and calendula oils, it melts into the skin within seconds. When you pump it from the bottle it looks more like a gel-lotion but the minute you massage it into your skin it feels like an oil. My dry skin drinks it up, and the way it smoothes fine lines, and sinks in quickly - it's the hero in the range as far as I am concerned. Oh and did I mention the delicate and delicious raspberry scent.
What is it?
Enlighten Serum, $133
The hyperpigmentation (brown spots) on my complexion bug me more than the lines. They are also hellishly difficult to erase. I have tried, peels, laser and microdermabrasion, and while they have all helped, every summer that dreaded pigment returns. Since using this serum to spot-treat (only apply on the brown marks) those age spots on my jaw and under my eyes have started to fade. I have the bearberry leaf extract, lactic acid and wild cherry bark extract to thank for fading them, no nasty chemicals and the results so far - are epic.
Why do I like it?
Cosmeceutical skincare is not fluffy, it doesn't smell pretty, and it's not packaged in flashy jars or bottles. But it works. Once you have the right prescription for your skin concerns, it will change the look and feel of your skin within weeks. These products combined have left my skin feeling nourished and looking healthy. I am thrilled the dark spots are starting to fade and I love the fact that the ingredients are natural. This range is easy to use, a quick spritz of Clear Plus followed by Immerse and then spot treating brown spots at night with Enlighten and my skincare routine is pretty much done. I would not call these products organic but they are potent and packed with the very best Mother Nature has to offer.
