You'd think acne should be just a bad high school memory, but more and more of us are battling breakouts well into our late 20’s and beyond. Editor Trudi Brewer investigates a new luxe-y skin masque to help deal to those pesky pimples.
You’d think one of the perks of getting older would be pimple-free skin, right? Sadly no, with the average age of acne sufferers rising over the past decade from 20.5 to 26.5. But a new masque from Environ promises to leave breakout-prone skin looking brighter, healthier and rejuvenated.
What is it?
Part of the Focus Care Clarity+ range, the new Hydroxy Acid Sebu-Clear Masque is a low pH acid cream. It's blend of exfoliating acids that assists with renewing and rejuvenating skin by helping to improve the overall appearance of breakout-prone skin.
How do I use it?
First, cleanse and tone with Environ Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser and Sebu-Tone Clarifier – also part of the Focus Care Clarity+ range. Then using the brush that comes with the masque, apply an even layer of the cream to problem areas. Leave it on for 10 minutes then rinse well with tepid water. Mix equal quantities of Sebu-Lac Lotion with Sebu-ACE Oil in your palm, then gently massage into the affected areas. You can use the masque every second or third evening; you may feel a mild tingling. If your skin feels dry or starts to flake, don't panic, just cut back on using the masque until your skin has settled.
Why do we like it?
Well, we always love a DIY solution! Also, the creamy texture of the masque leaves skin feeling deliciously smooth and refreshed.
Tip: This product contains salicylic acid as a keratolytic agent. Avoid using this if any known allergies to the ingredients exist or if you are allergic to aspirin.
