The latest scent from Italian fashion brand Miu Miu is the third in their collection and as editor Trudi Brewer discovers it's fresh, pretty and so addictive.
Miu Miu L'Eau Rosée, 50ml $150.
The third scent in the Miu Miu fragrance portfolio is a fresh take on the first two, Miu Miu Eau de Parfum and Miu Miu L’Eau Bleue. We would call it an effervescent floral, and it comes in a fresh easy-to-wear Eau de Toilette. All three fragrances were created by German perfumer Daniela Andrier, who used her signature blend of lily of the valley and cassis bud (in fact these floral notes are the base to all three scents). Then once blended with a modern, synthetic known as akigalawood, which adds a peppery, musky vibe.
What's in it?
The most noticeable ingredients include lily of the valley, which is at the heart of the fragrance, and the woody blend of the akigalawood, with sandalwood, vanilla and white musk. But it's the addition of subtle citrus and fruity ingredients such as rose, peach, pear, bergamot and lemon that sparked our interest.
Why do we like it?
If you go by the name, you would expect this scent to be drenched in rose? But no. Not a hint of rose is detectable at first, (although rose essence is in the fragrance). It's the softness of lily of the valley and cassis bud that is evident from the moment you spritz it on your skin. Then, when blended with those musky notes, it goes from being a light, fresh fragrance to a sexy, after five perfume.
Miu Miu L'Eau Rosèe is available at Ballantynes, David Jones and Smith & Caughey's.
