Your fifth sense (the power of smell) is the one sense that can indeed influence your day. The fragrances you wear are a defining feature, in those around you forming opinions, it evokes strong emotions in people and has the power to possess nostalgia-enhancing qualities from the smell of fresh laundry, a day by the sea, a garden at dawn. They can also be alluring - filling your senses with pheromones of the opposite sex. We are perfume obsessed here at BEQ, and we never underestimate the power of fragrance and the ability it has on others. From Gucci to Dolce & Gabbana, here are our favourite scents to wear this summer.
Gucci Bloom Nettare di Fiori from, $161.
The third Bloom, known as a fresh green scent it also has a woody kick, ideal for those long summer nights. But what makes it unforgettable is the blend of ginger and rose, patchouli, musk, and delicate osmanthus flower.
Tiffany & Co Eau De Parfum Intense from $135.
The first thing you will notice is the tart mandarin, and then the soft, sexy iris flower. But it’s the injection of potent amber, and a synthetic ingredient called Benzoin (a woody vanilla note) that gives this powdery floral its sexy edge - and it comes housed in the iconic Tiffany blue box the International symbol of love is every girl's dream.

The timeless elegance of this rose fragrance appeals to lots of fragrance aficionados. Sophisticated, powdery, pretty and let's face it owning a piece of Chloè is a fashion win. The blend of Damask rose, Centifolia rose and Rose de Mai, gives it a sweet floral scent, but it’s the blend of vanilla and fresh, green patchouli that adds a woody, musky charm - it's gorgeous.
Givenchy L'Interdit Eau De Parfum From $113.
The blend of jasmine and tuberose make this fragrance reminiscent of a spring bouquet. But after a few minutes the musky vetiver root and patchouli combination, give it a unique cut grass quality, going from a fresh head floral to a sumptuous woody floral - as a reinterpretation on a classic it's exquisite.
KENZO Flower by Kenzo EDT, 50ml, $79.
Fragrance maker Alberto Morillas can do no wrong in my mind, and this pretty floral is a vibrant scent ideal for summer. The tart mandarin is softened by the blend of sweet rose and violet and given longevity with vanilla and powdery white musk - and the bottle for classic scent lovers will be a keepsake.
Chopard Happy Chopard Lemon Dulci EDP, 40ml, $99.
As refreshing as a cold glass of limoncello this scent is mouthwateringly good. Fresh and uplifting thanks to the blend of feel-good citrus fruits and green leaves with invigorating ginger, crisp apple, orange flower water, mango and cucumber it's for citrus scent lovers of any age.

I am partial to wearing men’s cologne, especially at night. Not only does this woody masterpiece smell heavenly on my hubby, but it also smells pretty good on me too. The freshness of pear adds a sweetness to the orris, lavender, leather and patchouli ingredients in this classic cologne.
