Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily + Overnight Boosters with Pure Vitamin C & Vitamin A, $68.
What is it?
Clinique’s Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10% has been around for a few months (if you haven’t heard of it yet, you can read my review here) and now an Overnight Booster is completing the picture to create a day/night anti-ageing system. Packed with vitamin A (aka anti-ageing powerhouse retinol), the Overnight Booster is designed to work in synergy with the day serum to give clearer, brighter, more youthful-looking skin.
What’s in it?
Vitamin A is a favourite among skin experts and dermatologists for the way it stimulates the production of new skin cells and has long been the gold standard anti-ageing skincare ingredient. Cell turnover naturally slows with age and speeding it up helps to combat the signs of ageing and sun-damage, from fading dark spots and blemishes to reducing the appearance of fine lines. When used in sync with the vitamin C-packed Daily Booster, you can expect to see a revitalised and more even-toned complexion.
How do you use the boosters?
Both vitamins A and C are notorious for losing potency once they are exposed to light and oxygen, so these boosters are packed in ‘stay-fresh’ airless dispensers to protect their efficacy. The vitamins are only released into an anti-ageing emulsion once the bottle is activated before first use (to do this you simply press the inner bulb twice and then shake for 15 seconds). Each booster comes in a 6ml pack designed for use over 14 days/nights while the vitamins are at maximum potency. Each booster can be used alone after cleansing or mixed into your usual moisturiser. Gently smooth all over your face (avoiding the eye area), neck and décolletage. Vitamin A may cause some sun sensitivity, so it’s essential you apply an SPF each day. If you experience a little redness, dryness or flaking (especially around the nose) while using the Overnight Booster, don’t worry – this is normal and a sign that your skin is renewing itself.
Why we like it?
We love skincare that delivers on its promise. As a seasoned vitamin A addict, the Overnight Booster contains a gentle dose (unlike some cosmeceuticals and prescription vitamin A creams) which helps to shift stubborn blotchiness. The potent combination of vitamins A and C in this skincare duo is a game changer for ageing or dull, discoloured skin. While it’s true that there’s no shortage of skin-lightening, complexion-perfecting options out there, Clinique’s Fresh Pressed system is one of the brightest on beauty counters right now.
