A fragrance is a powerful element in the laws of attraction. Editor Trudi Brewer shares a new designer scent for him and her that may help you make remarkable new memories.
Gucci Memoire d'une Odeur, from $129
A fragrance created to transcend gender, evoke memories and maybe event spark romance - that’s what the new scent from Gucci was designed to do. The brainchild of style guru Alessandro Michele, Gucci's creative director who when asked what makes this fragrance unique? "Perfume is that thing that even with your eyes closed, brings you to a precise moment in space and time. This fragrance sets out to explore the power of memory."
What's in it?
Where fresh meets musk, this fragrant creation is known as a mineral aromatic. That is thanks to traditionally male and female ingredients such as Roman chamomile, bitter almond, honey, and the orangey scent of heady Indian coral jasmine. This tiny summery bloom is exclusive to Gucci and is collected in India overseen by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, who bought Michele's vision for this unisex perfume to life. Finally, the warm musky aroma is courtesy of vanilla, cedarwood, and sandalwood.
Why do we like it?
Well, it's Gucci. But that's not only the reason we love this new vintage-looking scent. It's not just another fragrance from the power designer brand; it's a scent that makes a subtle statement. It blends the past and present with the bottle design. And the smell is universal, a perfume unassigned by gender - it's for anyone and everyone - I love it, and so does my hubby. Gucci Memoire D' une Odeur is an expression of your individuality; it's authentic and modern, fresh yet woody - it's vibrant, yet sensual. As far as a new summer scent goes, it will make you feel your most confident, yet most comfortable self.
