Matt, yet hydrating with a soft, satin texture, editor Trudi Brewer shares a new lippy you need to wear this summer.
Nude by Nature Satin Liquid Lipstick, $29
What is it?
We call this a hybrid satin-like matt finish that glides on like a lip gloss but stays put like a traditional long-lasting lippy.
What's in it?
One hundred per cent natural this liquid lippy is boosted with sweet almond oil and Shea butter. The formulation is enriched with antioxidants such as native Australian Kakadu plum and desert lime (which make it taste good too), as well as tiny microspheres of moisture that make it comfortable and hydrating on the lips. The colour pigments are natural minerals, in a range of ten flattering nature-inspired hues.
Why do we like it?
It's a creamy, satin texture, with the longevity of a matt lipstick. One swipe with the round-tipped brush makes the application incredibly fast, and precise, and once applied you can eat, drink, and kiss to your heart's content. It smells and tastes delicious, and doesn't feel like you have dry, toast crumbs on your lips, like so many matt lipsticks do after a few hours. Finally, if, like me, you're always on the search for that perfect nude lip colour, this collection offers up ten easy-to-wear, natural-looking shades, so you will struggle only to choose one.
My tip: You may be tempted to apply a thick layer and press your lips together when wearing this delicious liquid lip colour, don't. Apply one even coat to get that natural-looking stain, and it will last on the lips for hours.
My picks for day: Nude by Nature Satin Liquid Lipstick in Wisteria, $29, Satin Liquid Lipstick in Sunkissed, $29. For after five: Nude by Nature Satin Liquid Lipstick in Terracotta, $29 and Satin Liquid Lipstick in Radiant Plum, $29.
