Glitter plays a starring role in my makeup routine, says editor Trudi Brewer and not just because the festive season is upon us. If you’re new to sparkle here our some of my favourites ways to wear it.
Makeup
To stop your glitter going everywhere, wet eyeshadows before applying them to the lids, and keep a roll of cellotape in your makeup drawer. It’s fantastic for lifting off the excess sparkle, without destroying the rest of your makeup.

Lips
If you’re new to glitter, the finer the particles, the more subtle the result. Avoid shine anywhere else on your face and stick to the semi-matte foundation and blush when wearing sparkle on your lips.

Skin
Gold and bronze are the most flattering shades of glitter to wear because they take on the natural-looking glow of your skin tone. Place glitter anywhere the sun would naturally hit your skin such as the brow bones, cheekbones, collar bones, and tops of the shoulders.

As a feature nail or using clever nail art techniques, glitter on your fingertips is a great accessory. Get into the festive mood with shades of red, silver or gold.

Hair
To instantly give your locks that party vibe, add a sparkly hair accessory, or wash-out shimmer gel or spray to highlight your parting or a ponytail.
