It’s official, and we are excited, American colour company Pantone has chosen a "universal favourite" as the fresh colour for 2020. Classic Blue, or Pantone 19-4052, is described by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute as "a reassuring presence instilling calm, confidence and connection". She believes this nautical shade will be embraced. “2020's shade brings a sense of peace and tranquillity to the human spirit, offering refuge, says Eiseman, who adds. ”The hue in question is also said to be associated with communication, introspection and clarity.” The colour of the sky at dusk, it’s also thought-provoking, dependable, and a shade that helps in concentration. "Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication," said Eiseman. And what better time of the year to embrace all that is good about this new colour with a New Year moments away. "We are living in a time that requires trust and faith," she says and adds, "It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on."
