Clinique's Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate

For me any signs of fatigue and stress unfortunately show up under my eyes. From dark circles, puffiness, bags and crepey-looking fine lines. Not to mention the skin around my eyes is the first to divulge the effects of too much wine, salty snacks, excess screen time, and a week of late nights. Here’s a new thirst quenching, soothing eye gel I am addicted to.

Clinique's Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate, $79

Clinique's Moisture Surge range is famous. From the CC cream to the thirst-quenching overnight mask. The Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator a firm favourite of mine has a stack of industry beauty awards to its name, and now Clinique has added an eye concentrate to the mix. Why do you need this eye gel I hear you ask? Scroll down to keep reading.

What is it?

An eye gel in a pump applicator that will make you rethink everything you ever knew or expected from a hydrating, refreshing eye cream formula.

What’s in it?

It’s supercharged with a coconut oil- infused aloe leaf water, which is what makes it feel so cooling and tightening on the skin. The brand say the "auto-replenishing lipid-sphere technology", is encapsulated vitamins E and C (which are the tiny suspended pink and green balls floating in the gel), and invisible polymers that together help to flood the skin with 96-hours of hydration - the claim mentioned on the bottle. These ingredients along with hyaluronic acid (a famous moisture magnet), coconut oil-infused aloe butter, rice extract, green tea and cucumber, caffeine, and algae extracts, and niacinamide (vitamin B3).

Why do we like it?

It instantly firms the skin under the eyes, it's ultra lightweight, and melts onto the skin within seconds. Clinique says to break the tiny spheres between the fingertips when applying it, but I haven't had to do that. I am an eye cream aficionado and try as many new formulas as I can and this stacks up with the best. I often mix my eye cream with my concealer for an extra boost of moisture, and this hydrating gel is perfect for that trick. It didn't slip or slid off the skin when mixed with the concealer, in fact, the blend absorbed into my skin instantly, with a much smoother-looking end result. It's been the best addition to my skincare routine since my jar of Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator.
