Skin is a fickle beast, and the moment you feel tired or stressed, it shows on your face. This latest high-tech concentrate could be hope in a bottle when it comes to skin ageing and irritation. Read on to learn more.

Estèe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intense Reset Concentrate, $145.

What is it?

A skincare concentrate that helps to correct common beauty concerns such as irritation, redness, and dehydration.

How does it work?

First up you need to understand the science behind this new skin concentrate. Estēe Lauder and a team of biotech researchers recently teamed up to study metabolites the small molecules present within skin fluids, skin cells, and skin tissue. New findings in skin metabolomics helped them understand the impact our circadian rhythms has on young and ageing skin. Through this research, a skin concentrate was born to help address the look of tiredness, redness, dullness, and dehydration - just about every modern skin concern women of any age and ethnicity face today.

What's in it?

The technology is known as 'Chronolux S.O.S,' Lauder believe it can help rescue and reset your skin, flooding it with moisture and correcting irritations. To do this the formulation is a blend of heavy-weight ingredients including five different kinds of hyaluronic acid, 15x concentrated in a molecular weight that absorbs quickly. Salicylic acid, caffeine, and the potent antioxidant known as resveratrol, together these ingredients improve the texture and tone of the skin. There is also a calming and firming plant, and fruit extract cocktail of soy, oat kernel, barley, wheat germ, and lentil, apple, and watermelon. Finally lavender oil, and chamomile flower extracts give this concentrate its pleasant scent.

This gel-like serum was my saviour. It did flood my skin with moisture and calm that dehydrated sting thanks to the camomile and lavender scent, and as far as the look of my stressed-out skin - I could see fewer fine lines.

Estèe Lauder's new ANR Intense Reset Concentrate

Why do we like it?

ANR (Advanced Night Repair) Synchronized Recovery Complex II launched back in 1982, (and has had a number of face lifts since then), it’s a skin repair serum with a cult following. I have many great stories to share about it, from taking the sting out of sunburn to arresting the look of dehydration after sleepless nights. It has been a staple in my beauty routine for many years, particularly at the change of a season. So, when a new ANR concentrate with that same pedigree landed on my desk, the timing could not have been better. After three weeks of long haul travel, in sizzling hot temperatures, I arrived back to the biting cold of our NZ winter, and my skin was as dry as-a-chip. This gel-like serum was my saviour. It did flood my skin with moisture and calm that dehydrated sting thanks to the camomile and lavender scent, and as far as the look of my stressed-out skin - I could see fewer fine lines. Five days into using this concentrate, I am starting to believe the hype. If it can help my skin look better when it’s feeling its worst, (travel is not kind on your complexion) what could it do for my skin in years to come? I will keep you posted on results.

How to use this new concentrate?

Use at night after applying ANR Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II, or whenever your skin needs that extra boost of calming hydration.
