Carolina Herrera Good Girl review

Fashion and fragrance is our thing, and this new designer scent blends the best of both. Editor Trudi Brewer shares why you may want 'Good Girl’ by Carolina Herrera.

Carolina Herrera Good Girl, 50ml, $168.

Think of Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera, and a crisp white shirt springs to mind. Her style ‘perfectly simple', has been for the past 37 years, the epitome of sophistication. Dubbed the empress of elegance, Herrera has dressed some of the most beautiful women in the world. From first ladies including Jackie Onassis, and Michelle Obama, to royals Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle. She’s also the go-to brand for Hollywood A-listers, including Olivia Palermo, Nicole Kidman, and Renee Zellweger. Now at 80 years young, her latest accessory is an eye-catching perfume that is far from classic. Named, Good Girl, it’s housed in a stiletto, and as the designer, herself admits it's 'born of contradictions.'  Read on to find out what it smells like.

What's in it?

The brand calls this a luminous floral thanks to the blend of heady jasmine and tuberose, which has a delicious after scent, created from a combination of gourmand, (edible) ingredients including cocoa, almond, and coffee that give it depth and sweetness.

Why do we like it?

I overheard one beauty expert describe this scent much like an exotic cocktail, sweet and fruity with an unusual twist of freshness. I agree. It's also warm and delicious, with a creamy richness, think vanilla and marzipan. The biggest surprise, however, is the woody trail it leaves behind you that helps it last for hours. And of course, there's the bottle, it's fun, and it’s frivolous, which is what fragrance should be. It's the perfect party fragrance, and while it may be named Good Girl, I get the impression that this fragrance can be worn by a girl who also likes to be a little bit naughty.
