Sunshine and a view out to Rangitoto Island from Fort Takapuna is the perfect location to sip bubbles and discover the latest fashion and beauty trends. On Saturday, November 14, hosted by editor Trudi Brewer, the BeautyEQ team and our guests were in a festive mood. The afternoon kicked off with Champagne, delicious food, and a journey of discovery, including an organic self-tan, skin illuminators, cosmetic medicine, a soothing sunscreen, and divine home fragrance.

CHAMPAGNE & FOOD
Champagne on arrival from Piper Heidsieck and a cheeky Cointreau Cosmopolitan cocktail or two was the best way to spend an afternoon at The Officers Mess, in Fort Takapuna. We think this venue is Devonport’s best-kept secret. From the delicious canapés to a grazing-style shared lunch, including an antipasto platter of cheese and meats hot canapiès, and an impressive dessert bar. Our guests were treated to some of the best local cuisines in this ultra-feminine venue that is flooded with skin-illuminating natural light.
BEAUTY
Avène
We could not have asked for a better day to launch the latest sunscreen innovation from Avène. Our guests got to discover the range and hear how to protect the skin from both UVA (the ageing rays) and UVB (the burning rays. Packed with the antioxidant vitamin E and, like all Avène skincare has a base of soothing thermal spring water, brand manager Yoann Leady joined our beauty panel to explain how an SPF is the one product to add to your beauty routine this summer - If you want to preserve your precious complexion.
Clinicians
With the festive season upon us, Clinicians naturopath Jane Cronin shared how our gut has a stronghold on our entire body's health. From dealing with discomfort after eating festive food to sleeping well, our guests got the chance to have a one-on-one consultation with Cronin and Clinicians naturopath Rochelle Bailey. Another hot topic was menopause and how to nourish your body from the inside out. There were plenty of questions on how our diet and supplements can help get you through the festive season, looking and feeling your best.
Clinic 42
Highly skilled and respected, Dr. Romanowska, a pioneer of cosmetic medicine here in New Zealand joined editor Trudi Brewer on the stage to share her philosophy on appearance medicine as well as her skills. Channeling the Clinic 42 manta: "You'll love what you see," Dr. Romanowska performed a cheek boosting, anti-ageing treatment over the course of the event on guest Hayley Sesto. Her goal was to make subtle changes that will help make Sesto look the best version of herself.

Model Hayley Sesto was treated with Radiesse, a dermal filler in the cheeks to lift her face and give an overall refreshed appearance.

From backstage on our models, on the beauty panel, and hands-on with our guests Guerlain makeup artists, and business manager Maria Huljich-Boshier shared how easy it is to buff on luminous colour just where the sun would naturally hit your skin. From the legendary powder pearls, Guerlain Mètèorites to the new summer Guerlain Terracotta palettes, there was a highlight, shimmer, and a faux glow to suit any age and every skin tone.
