The latest collection from the New Zealand fashion brand Maaike is a celebration of their tenth birthday. This new collection aptly named 'Tien' is a nod to the designer's Dutch heritage (the brand name Maaike is a Dutch name and the middle name of one of the designer’s sisters). The range blends elements from past collections, such as the famous speckled knitwear from their very first collection, as well as new elements, which are a nod to future designs. There are two new prints to mark this occasion, named ‘Marble’, and ‘Chroma;’ both handpainted by the designer herself, using Resene paint colours. The palette used in the Chroma print is a mix of moody tones including muted purple, burgundy, and green, while the Marble print is a blend of bright swirling shades; including orange, blue and pretty peach. Exotic prints are the cornerstone of this brand, and with this new collection maybe it’s time to you give your wardrobe a refresh?
