Winter brings with it the usual host of skin stressors, including dryness, dullness and sensitivities. It's the ideal time to switch up your beauty routine with targeted treatments and indulgent creams. New DermAbsolu from Avène contains some of the most active ingredients used in age erasing skincare, including vanilla polyphenols that boosts the natural synthesis of hyaluronic acid, (HA) and provides antioxidant benefits. A skincare superhero, HA can absorb up to 1,000 times its weight in water, which is why it's a trusted moisture magnet. Sytenol, is the radiance-boosting ingredient, the first plant-derived (from the Babchi plant, used in Chinese medicine) natural alternative to retinol (vitamin A), it helps speed up cell turnover, which boosts collagen growth, and improves dullness and dark spots. While glycoleol, has a 'reservoir' effect in the skin helping to fight that inevitable dryness most ageing skin faces. Finally, as with all Avène skincare, this new range is no exception; the base is the soothing thermal spring water. Here's my daily routine.

Avène DermAbsolu Recontouring Serum, $80.

For me, the hero in the range is the serum. It’s a serum-in-oil formula, which is a combination of lightweight oil, whipped with a highly concentrated skin brightening cocktail of ingredients to help erase and prevent dark spots. The texture is non-greasy, so it absorbs in seconds, and leaves a luminous glow on the skin, thanks to the addition of pearlescent agents in the blend. I use this serum morning and night, one dropper full, pressed into freshly cleansed skin is all you need.

It's hard to beat the luxurious velvet-like texture of this day cream. While it melts into the skin, you get a boost of antioxidants, including vitamin E and jojoba oil, which is just what dry skin needs to help fight the effects of those winter chills. Regardless of your age, everyone wants their skin to look glowy, radiant, and plump, and with cold weather on the way and my skin losing moisture - this is just the antidote it needs.

Avène DermAbsolu Comforting Night Balm, $80.

For me, night cream needs to do two things. Feel luxurious, and offer rejuvenating benefits to my skin. Thanks to a unique blend of anti-ageing actives and the melt-on-contact balm texture, this is a genuinely versatile (and affordable) night care option. Applied over the serum, each night, my complexion looks fresher and more vital each day.

Once you use the cooling metallic massage applicator, built into this eye cream, you will not be without it. A go-to, refreshing eye boost the hyaluronic acid works in seconds to smooth the skin around the eye area, at the same time, the puffiness, my eyes are prone to, when I wake up is less visible. One tip: I apply it again during the day, over makeup, if my concealer is looking dry, and pooling in those fine lines under my eyes - this trick works wonders.
