Lip gloss is making a comeback, and this newbie from Shiseido, uses oils, not wax as a base. Editor Trudi Brewer shares her new cosmetic crush.

What is it?
A shimmery, hydrating lip gloss, available in ten pretty shades.
What's in it?
Unlike most lip gloss formulas that contain wax and s petroleum base, this new GelGoss contains a breakthrough formula called ‘Dual Gel Complex’. This GelGloss is an oil-soluble gel, and silica gel fused with reflective pearl particles that deliver a lightweight, crystal-like shine.
Why do we like it?
It's hard to find a good lip gloss. And I would know it’s my goA formula that's weightless but offers lasting shine, a tint, but enough colour pay off to wear alone, and a gloss that works over the top of your favourite matte lipstick - I’m not asking for much, am I? Well week three of trying out almost every shade , (bar the Shin-Ku Red and Hakka Mint), colours our style director Louise Hilsz snapped up, the day they arrived), I am hooked. They deliver on shimmer, and shine, and offer addictive nourishment. They arrived just in time for our cold snap, windy wet weather that’s notorious for drying out my lips. Finally, to explain who can wear the Kogane Gold, this is the perfect shade to add warmth to any dull brown lipstick you may have floating around in your makeup drawer. While the Hakka Mint allows you to amplify cooler tones and create the appearance of whiter, teeth - genius right, we are sold.
