Luxury designer fragrances are among the fastest-growing scent categories, says editor Trudi Brewer.
Who admits she is all about a scent with style.
American fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez is one of the industry heavyweights; his fashion moments have captured the world's attention. From creating that figure-hugging, bias-cut wedding dress Carolyn Bessette wore when she married John F. Kennedy, Jr, to the red-and-black firecracker of a dress, Michelle Obama stood in beside her husband Barack, the first African American president. His eponymously named brand has solidified itself as a global leader with celebrities too. The list is long. From Ashley Greene to Khloe Kardashian, Claire Danes, Julianna Margulies, Jessica Alba, and Rachel Weisz have worn a couture design and carried one of his luxury handbags or spritzed on his musk-laden fragrances. The first perfume launched back in 2014, fast-forward seven years, to this new Narciso Eau Neroli Ambrée, is what the designer describes as "A vibrant new femininity through its distinctive floral facets."

NARCISO Eau Neroli Ambrée, by Narciso Rodriguez, is available in three sizes, $30ml $92, 50ml $140 and 90ml $195.
What's in it?
Inside the frosted glass cube bottle is a swirl of radiant florals. Frangipani with orange blossom and neroli are married perfectly by an infusion of cashmeran (a woody, musky note that smells like a blend of balsamic and vanilla) and cedarwood. Layered over woody amber and a base of signature musk. Present in all the Narciso scents and inspired by the Egyptian musk oil that a friend gave to the designer as a teenager, a smell he has been obsessed with ever since.
Why do we like it?
I have always been a perfume polygamist. I have so many scents that I genuinely adore. However, while I tend to gravitate to a fresh lemony scent for the day, I am swayed by a musk-laden fragrance to wear at night. So to that end, the scent I choose to wear always serves as an extension of my wardrobe. Also telling - within moments of spritzing this newbie on, my hubby, who got a whiff after burying his face into my neck, and said, "You smell delicious." Beyond fashion or your fragrance selection, that is the kind of reaction a woman wants when she wears perfume.
