A new version of the iconic Kenzo Flower by Kenzo has just hit stores. Poppy Bouquet is brimming with the best spring-like blooms; it's a floral fragrance lover's dream come true. Read on to learn more.
What’s in it?
The brand says the freshness you get when you spritz this scent on your skin captures the dew beads on freshly picked flowers at dawn. Green almond and tea leaves offset with a dash of tangy mandarin and Sambac jasmine, with gardenia and Damask rose, make it a true floral fragrance. Rounded off perfectly by cedarwood (the perfect gateway ingredient, a place to start if you've been loyal to scents with flowers and vanilla, but if you are looking for something slightly more sophisticated). Finally, the white musk offers a powdery, creamy dry down.
Kenzo Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet EDT 50ml, $130.
Inspired by a morning stroll in a Japanese flower market (which I have done), this new Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Eau de Toilette is a celebration of twenty years of Flower by Kenzo. A joint venture between master perfumer Alberto Morillas and up-and-coming French perfumer Dora Baghriche. Together, they have created a new floral addiction, designed to bloom on the skin. The brand says Poppy Bouquet Eau de Toilette reflects Kenzo's unconditional love of flowers. It's a sun-kissed perfume that exudes a youthful, carefree attitude. It's a luminous floral explosion that is joyful by nature.
Why do we like it?
It's funny how each of us gravitates to different fragrances. Scent has the power to transport you to your past and another time. Then the science of scent memory kicks in, guiding you to choose a perfume. This new Kenzo reminds me of my past. Many years ago, all I would wear was a citrus scent laden with white flowers, which not only did I inherit from my mum, it reminded me of her. This newbie has the lightness of a traditional cologne, thanks to the green, citrus bite and a luscious quality with those beautiful flowers. But the white musk and cedarwood blend is what makes this fragrance special. It's dashingly modern with unexpected elegance.
