Styling tips

Fashionable and flattering the pleated skirt is bang on trend this season. Most body shapes can rock this style including a pear body type, and this season it looks best teamed it with soft knitwear to flatter your natural curves. When shopping for a pleated skirt make sure the style you choose sits right on your natural waist and add layers with statement accessories to help balance out wide hips. Keep your colour palette tonal with chic winter boots.

The pencil skirt

Worn as a separate, or as part of a suit, the classic pencil skirt popularised by French designer Christian Dior hit runways back in 1954 and it’s still on trend today.

Cooper Cat Power cardigan, $399. Cooper Ratta Cat Cat skirt, $299. Mi Piaci Benji heel, $260. Saben Hoffman bag, $539.

Styling tips

The pencil skirt flatters curves when your bust and hip measurements are similar, which helps to give the illusion of a nipped in waist. Add a pair of high heels and it will lengthen your legs and add proportion to your frame. This office-chic skirt can also be worn with chunky knitwear, and ankle boots for a casual midweek date night.

A full skirt

Worn casual for the weekend with a denim jacket and suede boots or slip on a heel and fitted shirt for the office a full skirt is both feminine and on-trend.

Styling tips

A full skirt from circle to A-line will help to create balance to a fuller figure. If it flares out over your hips, it will help to minimise your lower half, and this season floral fabric is not only on-trend if you want to distract from the look of curvy hips and full thighs this feminine style is so flattering.
