Boot lovers (and I place myself firmly in that camp) - it's time to celebrate. This autumn ankle boots reign supreme. Heels are stacked or block and there is plenty of detail including buckles, chains and chic metallic shine. In other words, there is a pair for every fetish. I have selfishly rounded up my favourites, all of which hit stores within the next few weeks.

If you're investing in new boots, here are some on-trend tips to consider:
Block heel: There is a distinct Western flavour this season, which is set to continue through to summer, so your investment is excellent value - cost per wear. If you choose a pair in basic black, make sure they are adorned with some embellishment such as rivets or engraving and wear them with everything, from feminine dresses, jeans or leggings, even a classic tailored pant.
Stacked heel: An on-trend investment is a pair of stacked heels. They are as sturdy as they are sexy, and as far as boots go they are super comfortable. This solid heel can be worn all day at the office, and then out to party at night.
Buckle and chain detail: The devil is always in the detail, and when it comes to buckles or chains, wear them at the ankles. Hardware can make even the most classic boot relevant, but more importantly, it adds interest to what can often be - just another ordinary-looking boot in your wardrobe.
