How does oil nourish skin?
I swear by oils for promoting healthy, hydrated skin. And regardless of your skin type pretty much everyone can benefit from a boost of oil in their beauty routine. Plant oils particularly have a natural affinity with the skin, absorb quickly and keep the skin's barrier intact, preventing dryness and sensitivities. My morning routine always starts with an oil, from the face to the eye area. Here's my latest crush.
What is new with oil?
Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Restoring Eye Serum, $115.
What's in it?
These little eye capsules are packed with loads of anti-ageing ingredients, suspending in the lightest of skin loving oils, namely Tsubaki (Japanese Camellia oil), coconut, vitamin E and olive. As well as ceramides 1, 3 and 6 and omegas, 3, 6 and 9 which as fatty acids tend to be on the lighter side, weight-wise, so they provides fast absorbing moisture without the greasiness. Along with these powerhouse oils, sea fennel extracts, hops and alfalfa extracts help to plump out fine lines, which is why I use the excess around my lips (there is so much in one capsule), and the fast absorption means you can apply makeup on skin straight away.
How to use it?
Just twist the lid, and squeeze the serum from the pod onto the back of your hand, this helps warm the oil, which helps it spread further, faster. Then apply by pressing into the skin with your fingertips around the eye area - and anywhere else you need extra nourishment.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Restoring Eye Serum, $115 hit stores July 31st.
