For a velvety matte finish to upcycle vintage furniture, or add a fresh new look to plant pots, the new range of Karen Walker Chalk Colour Paint is brilliant. Available in a crisp white this paint can be tinted to any of the white-based Karen Walker designer paint range and finished with a glow-giving wax.

Here’s how easy it is to use

For just about any painting project from furniture, to adding a matt finish to ceilings, or refreshing any accessories like vases or pots, a couple of coats of the Karen Walker Chalk Colour from Resene will instantly update anything. Oh and did I mention, there is no prep or sanding required - yes!

To start

Karen Walker Chalk Paint comes in white and can be colour tinted to any of the Karen Walker white-based designer colour range.
Wipe down your project from dust or grime, and start painting. As I mentioned, no priming, sanding or sealing is required. For most surfaces, as long as it's clean, you can start painting immediately. However, for pots or outdoor furniture that maybe have a layer of moss and mould, always treat this before you paint with Resene Moss and Mould Killer.
Make sure you stir the paint well, (especially when it’s been tinted to a KW shade), before applying it. Brush on one or two coats of the Karen Walker Chalk Colour, drying time is around 45 minutes. Wait two hours, before brushing on a second coat.
Wash brushes with cold water when you’ve finished painting, or a great tip, between layers, wrap your brush in clear Gladwrap. This technique keeps the paint and brushes moist between coats.
Finally, finish with the Karen Walker French Provincial Wax or Karen Walker Vintage Wax, both buff on with a soft dry cloth, and add extra lustre and an additional protective layer to your finished paint job.
