Perhaps the closest I will get to an Italian summer holiday this year is wearing Versace's new fragrance Dylan Turquoise. Editor Trudi Brewer shares this new citrus, floral scent, perfect for summer wherever you are.
Versace Dylan Turquoise Pour Femme, priced from $99.
What is it?
Ultra-feminine and super summery designed to evoke your desire for a holiday in the sun. Think white sand and azure blue water, with supermodels Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber hanging out at a beach party on a small, exclusive Italian island in Sardinia. Every girl’s Mediterranean dream holiday, right? Thankfully if you close your eyes, this fragrance will take you there.
What does it smell like?
Summer - in one word. Created as an ode to the Versace woman's sensuality - the face Hayley Bieber embodies it beautifully. The brand calls this fragrance a luminous floral; we call it a zesty, woody floral - citrus scent fans; you will be swooning. That is all due to the juicy aroma of Primofiore lemon, Italian mandarin, pink peppercorn, and cassis. Followed by the scent of white spring flowers, jasmine, and freesia spiked with tropical guava. But the amber, clear and cedarwood blended with white musk gives it a sensual aroma reminiscent of summer nights on the Italian coast - if you close your eyes, it will take you there.
Why do we like it?
First up, the bottle is divine. A keepsake, it's an Italian work of art, elegantly curved, azure blue with signature Versace gold accents. The cap is embossed with the Medusa head and engraved with the name of the fragrance in Baroque-style letters - the contents live up to the chic packaging. Up until now, I wasn't missing travel, but this fragrance does transport me to an exotic island in the sun. It’s sophisticated, yet clean and sensuous and thanks to the generous splash of citrus, it smells like a fresh summer breeze - you're going to want to bathe in it.
