Australian Fashion Week

It’s been a while since we have been able to devour amazing street style images on Instagram from fashion weeks around the globe. Over the past week, Sydney has hosted Australian Fashion Week, and the fashion on and off the runway did not disappoint. Australian-born (from the sunny city of Perth) style director Louise Hilsz laments on missing this week of colourful fashion - here she shares her highlights.

Maxine Wylde @__mmaxinewylde

One of my favourite accounts on instagram. Maxine wears colour so well. I think she created nine looks over the week - great effort!

Nawal @nawalsari

Nawal describes herself on instagram as Redefining Modern Fashion. I totally agree. I love her look and her sassy attitude.

Erin Holland @erinvholland

Erin is chic, and wears that daytime, sexy vibe consistently all week. It’s a fine line pulling this look off but I think she nailed it with confidence.

My pick of the best shows

Romance was Born

My all-time favourite Australian brand. The show was designed to look like a carnival with Ferris wheels and colourful floral installations. The pastel tones and flouncy layers are a major vibe.

Alice Mccall

This psychedelic show gave me all the Palm Springs feels (my favorite place in the world). I’m lusting after every piece, it makes we want to get dressed up and throw a fab party.

Yousef Akbar

I had never heard of this designer before but the giant puffy purple dress really caught my eye. He is a contemporary eveningwear designer who launched his brand in 2017. One to watch for sure.

Mariam Sedddiq

I’m obsessed with neon green at the moment so this dress ticks all the right boxes for me.
