Don't pile on the foundation where it isn't needed, especially with the 'no makeup' trend being a hit now. Likewise, your entire face doesn't need a blanket cover of foundation for the day. Instead, apply, use your fingers and focus on the areas you want to even out your complexion. Namely, the T zone, and then let your natural skin shine on your cheeks and neck.

What’s in it?

The formula is a 'breathable skin tint' that provides sheer coverage yet guarantees 12 hours of wear. Why? It contains three clever technologies. First, 'activeforce' (also in Shiseido suncare) resists heat, humidity, and oil and won't pool into fine lines with facial movements. Second a "catch and release" delivery system that gives the feel of freshly applied makeup in a cushiony texture that offers all-day hydration. Third, a 'responsive sensory technology,' which adapts to your skin's condition, tone and texture for a true-to-shade colour that blends effortlessly into the skin. Finally, a whopping 70 per cent of the ingredients have skincare benefits, including wild thyme, magnesium, fatty acids, and hyaluronic acid. The tint is a range of mineral mica powders, and the sun protection is titanium dioxide.

Why do I like it?

I do like Shiseido foundations. And the Synchro Skin range has never failed to make my skin look good any time of the year and in any light. This summer-inspired newcomer stays dewy-looking for hours, has a brilliant wrinkle-blurring finish, and the good-for-you ingredients mean my skin stays feeling nourished all day. It's just the tinted oomph I need for my skin to look flawless yet, natural in the heat.
