The go-to brand for a great pair of jeans, Abercrombie & Fitch is 129 years young. While they have always been affordable and aspirational, I think their fragrance portfolio has an air of luxury and gets better with age. Case in point with these new his and her scents. A fashion-forward floral for her and an aquatic, vibrant aromatic for him. Both named, Away, a notion I'm dreaming about right now, says editor Trudi Brewer.
For an all American brand that launched back in 1892, A & F is officially 'cool' again. With a focus on wholesome, inclusive clothing, and a drive to an online future, its transformation since CEO Fran Horowitz took over the reins back in 2017 has reflected in fashion and fragrance acclaim. The female scents are spirited and for women who know what they want. The men's target those who have a lust for adventure. These two new fragrances speak to the range of emotions facing all of us right now. Added to your scent wardrobe, they could be the perfect antidote - or a reminder of striving to find a healthy balance between doing and being. After all, life is a journey, not a destination.
Abercrombie & Fitch, Away Woman EDP 50ml, $59. 100ml, $79.
According to the brand, "The journey is a trip, but the destination is a feeling. This new fragrance is an invitation to press pause and just be."
What’s in it?
A fruity, floral gourmand - in laymen speak a delicious, almost edible floral scent. It kicks off with juicy pear and red currant, followed by the zesty citrus blend of mandarin and orange. The flowers, a perfect spring bouquet of jasmine, freesia and lily-of-the-valley, make it ultra-feminine. Finally, the combination of sweet praline, sandalwood and a popular ingredient in fragrance right now, amber, sold me. You barely smell it, but it gives the slightest bit of warmth that wears beautifully.
Abercrombie & Fitch Away Man EDT, 50ml, $59. 100ml, $79.
The brand says, "Away for men is an aquatic Fougere fragrance, offering a stolen moment of relaxing freshness."
What’s in it?
An effervescent scent with an exciting blend of both feminine and masculine ingredients. Maybe that's why I can't stop smelling it. From crisp violet leaf to pineapple and grapefruit; spicy geranium, ginger and white pepper. Blonde wood and vetiver essence are tempered by a creamy amber to compliment the woman's fragrance, makes it both fresh and earthy, an absolute must-try for the summer months ahead.
The latest rosy designer scent.
