There is nothing like a summer scent. I always wait in anticipation for them to arrive, and it never disappoints - and this newbie, from Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab, is exquisite. “Night flowers that rub shoulders with morning blossom, the sparkling notes of citrus fruits, the enveloping scents of woody fragrances.” A scent that captures the light and my attention, says editor Trudi Brewer.
A designer fragrance is an affordable investment toward building a premium wardrobe. Remarkably accurate when it comes to this new Elie Saab designer perfume. It's the closest I will ever get to one of his couture designer gowns (that start at $25,000). But this sun-kissed scent, a mere fraction of that cost, but will also make you feel like a million dollars when wearing it. Saab calls his new perfume a voluptuous, floral woody chypre; for me, it's a potent, summery white floral. Read on to decide for yourself.

Why do we like it?
Recently, I was asked to name my favourite fragrance? I could not pinpoint just one. But when it came to my favourites, they were all made by fashion designers. Maybe it’s their attention to detail, the exquisite bottles and the luxurious ingredients. Or perhaps I am a perfume snob? But as far as taking us on a scent journey, designers know how to layer a scent and sell a good story. “A seductive, compelling bouquet of Indian Jasmine Sambac absolute and tuberose, follows, beating at the heart of the fragrance, tempered by orange blossom with the same delicate weave as the embroidery dipped in liquid gold.” I could not have said that better if I had tried. Thanks, Elie Saab, for making our olfactory world that much sweeter.
Another designer expression of loving our true selves.
