We are still on a high after our fabulous BeautyEQ Long Lunch at Mantells Tamaki Drive Friday, July 1st. It was the ideal way to spend an afternoon overlooking Okahu Bay with stunning Auckland city as the backdrop.
Our guests were greeted with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne on arrival, followed by warm bread and dips with a glass of the luscious Kylie Rosè. Two years in the making, Kylie's Rosè is juicy from the first sip, with alluring aromas of fresh summer berries and white blossom. It's a refined blush pink wine with refreshing that is fruity, and crisp. On the menu, the first course, Angus eye fillet of beef, beetroot, lime pistachio bulger salsa, served with either Kylie Rose or Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by a deconstructed chocolate, peanut butter, gingernut plate.
Our guest speaker Kathryn Wilson
When shoe designer Kathryn Wilson stepped into the fashion scene back in 2003, she was a breath of fresh air. Her eponymously named shoe collections, Miss Wilson and diffusion lines, Mummy & Me and Baby Wilson, are worn by women and girls from all walks of life. A busy mum, Ronald McDonald and Breast Cancer Cure charity ambassador, our guests had the pleasure of hearing Kathryn Wilson’s success story first-hand.
Winter fashion show
Ready-to-wear, fashion from New Zealand designers and stores, helped our guests plan their winter wardrobes. What better accessories than autumn-winter Kathryn Wilson footwear.
The Beauty Panel
The focus of our beauty panel was to embrace change. From treating your hair and skin from the inside out with Clinicians’ new appearance range of supplements, boost the collagen in your skin and the keratin in your hair and round off the focus of wellbeing to enhance your beauty from the inside out. To the instant wow factor that Glam Lash lashes add to the eyes. The very best Versace scent that promises to transport you to a tropical escape. Shiseido’s top-selling concentrate serum, Ultimune and the new Essential Energy were the focus. Not only do they instantly hydrate the skin, but they also strengthen it against constant environmental damage.
Clinicians
Along with naturopath Jane Cronin, the latest range of appearance-boosting supplements were on show at our Long Lunch. From radiant skin with ReJuvenate, stacked with the moisture magnet hyaluronic acid, c collagen, and astaxanthin a potent antioxidant that helps protect the skin from UV sun damage as well as nourishing avocado oil. Hair-boosting ReVitalise contains KeraGEN-IV, derived from white New Zealand sheep's wool, to help make your hair fuller and stronger. Finally, ReColour, a clever, research-based supplement is made with Melatine, a hydrolysed French keratin from the wool of black sheep, rich in melanin to boost new hair colour pigment.
Glam Lashes
The 'Zoom Effect’ has certainly taken its toll on how we all see ourselves, not to mention how wearing face masks has made us rethink our beauty routines. Our guests got the chance to see how effective and youthful faux lashes can be, not to mention how easy the new Glam Lash pre-glued lashes are to apply and wear all day. Without the messy glue, these lightweight, fluttery lashes come ready to go with a band of glue that helps with an effortless application in seconds. You simply press on lashes and you are ready to face the day.
Shiseido
A good skincare routine is always our focus at BeautyEQ, and with 150 years of beauty knowledge and ingredient research, Shiseido joined us to share their latest skin-changing innovations. The cult beauty buy Ultimune 3.0, took centre stage, the perfect partner with the new Essential Energy. Utlimune, hydrates and helps strengthen the skin making it more resilient to outside aggressors, while the hyaluronic acid in the new Essential Energy locks moisture deep in the skin hydrating your skin from the inside out. Our guests got the chance to ask those burning beauty questions about their skincare routines while having a lipstick touch-up at the same time.
Fragrance
Luxury fragrances from Versace and Moschino wowed our guests. Dylan Blue Dylan Tourquioise Pour Femme was the star of the show. Ultra-feminine and super summery it’s designed to evoke your desire for a holiday in the sun. Think white sand and azure blue water, on a small, exclusive Italian island in Sardinia. Every girl’s Mediterranean dream holiday, right? Also on offer was the new collection of Toy fragrances from Moschino not only fun, fruity, and floral, but there is also an unexpected hint of sweet spice, which gives this collection a sophisticated edge. Moschino’s creative director Jeremy Scott is the brains behind this new Toy 2 Bubble Gum the third fragrance in the toy collection, and our guests could not get enough of these luxe-y scents.
Our guests
Thank you to our gorgeous guests who joined us at Mantells on Tamaki Drive for our annual mid-winter girls’ lunch. We were honoured to inspire your fashion and beauty winter wardrobes and get you set for spring. The BeautyEQ Long Lunch is a great opportunity to network and take a break from your busy routine, in the company of like-minded friends.
Fashion Finale
Our style director curated the very best from the up-and-coming spring styles hitting stores in August. Complemented by a selection of the Kathryn Wilson spring shoes, to help our guest plan their new season wardrobe, ahead of time. We also paid tribute to Kylie Minogue, actress, author and now winemaker, by adding a touch of sparkle to the runway. Kylie, the highest-selling female Australian artist of all time, selling a whopping 80 million records worldwide, an edit of her tunes was the soundtrack to our fashion finale.
What better way to celebrate that than a glamorous lady’s lunch.
All the models are wearing Spring Summer Kathryn Wilson shoes.
In The Living Room on the Waitematā Harbour, November 8th.
