Inspired by their best-selling scent Authentic, all-American fashion brand Abercrombie & Fitch, have two new fragrances, Authentic Moment, from both him and her, and we can’t decide which one we like best, says editor Trudi Brewer.

Authentic Moment was created to capture those playful, unplanned moments, which let’s face it are always memorable. The brand says, “When attraction takes you by surprise, you are unguarded, unscripted yet confident. And who cares if it is only for a moment, as long as it is all yours.”

What’s in it?
Master perfumer Gil Clavien of Firmenich says this new Authentic Moment for Her is, “A composition to capture a feeling of moment and energy, to show contrast and tension, an important factor in fragrance and in life.”
The blend of red fruits, mandarin and voluptuous rose and Jasmine petals add that feminine edge. Yet what makes it live up to its reputation of being a modern woody fruity fragrance is the cedarwood, patchouli, and musk.

What’s in it?
Master perfumer Yves Cassar from IFF, describes the inspiration behind this Oriental fragrance, “I wanted to create a fragrance that felt powerfully simple, to evoke those fleeting moments that seem trivial but in reality, carry a lot of depth and meaning.”
The first burst is refreshing thanks to the crisp blend of juicy bergamot, cypress and sweet cinnamon. But as the scent wears on the skin it reveals lush vibrancy from the citrusy neroli flower. What makes this fragrance last for hours is the warm base of sandalwood, amber wood, musk and sweet, comforting vanilla bean.
