Editor Trudi Brewer shares a step-by-step on how to fashion a face mask out of your favourite scarf

  • Place the paper towel or half a serviette cut to fit in the middle of the scarf.

  • Next, fold the scarf (or bandana) to the centre from the top, fold again to the middle, and keep folding until the scarf is the same size as your paper towel.

  • Wrap a rubber band loosely around each end of the scarf or bandana sitting next to the end of the paper wrapped in the scarf.

  • Fold each rubber-banded end to meet in the middle of your scarf or bandana. The ends of the scarf should sit on top of each other and the paper towel inside the scarf.

  • Hold the mask to your face, folded side against the skin, and tuck a rubber band around each ear, and you're ready to go - it's that easy.
