When it comes to fragrance, I'm not loyal. My bathroom shelf has become densely populated with nearly-full perfume bottles, a selection of scents that fall out of the rotation. But since receiving this newbie, I am reaching for it on the daily. Maybe it’s because Zendaya Coleman (uber babe is the face behind the brand), or is it the smallest of summer blooms - heady jasmine that got me hooked? Read on to find out more.

Lancôme Idôle Eau de Parfum, 50ml, $139.

The slimmest, lightest bottle of fragrance I have ever held. It weighs 200 grams, my iPhone weights 230 grams. It can lie flat or stand up, and it slips into that clutch for a date night with ease.

What’s in it?

A classic floral, chypre blend with what Lancôme callsspotless jasmine absolute,’ blended with ‘radical rose essence,' which is made from Turkish and Rose de Mai blooms. The freshness is courtesy of what Lancôme calls ‘clean and glow’ inspired by pear and bergamot. But what makes it last is the subtle vanilla and white musk mix.

Why do we like it?

Firstly as far as being portable goes it’s the slimmest, lightest bottle of fragrance I have ever held. It weighs 200 grams, my iPhone weights 230 grams. It can lie flat or stand up, and it slips into that clutch for a date night with ease. The scent is simply lovely, the perfect blend of fresh and musk. Created by women for women, the three female perfumers on this project, Adriana Medina, Nadège Le Garlantezec, and Shyamala Maisondieu, worked together to create this pretty floral tribute for Lancôme. That 'clean and glow' accord (I mentioned earlier) was designed with happiness, friendship and love in mind - something each of us strives to find.
