Making memories with loved ones, being spontaneous and travelling anywhere you wish - isn't the same as it once was. So, when Girl by Rochas arrived in the office, with the motto 'spray good, feel good,' I got excited, and not just by its woody, floral aroma, says editor Trudi Brewer.
Rochas is a traditional French fragrance house with 70 scents to its name. However, the latest, named Girl, is possibly their cleanest (in its formulation) and most lively. A feel-good fragrance for a new generation, one to wear on a humid summer's day that will give your skin and mood an instant boost - we promise.

What does it smell like?
Refreshingly citrusy, with a honey-like aroma thanks to neroli, chosen because it offers an instant peaceful calming effect when you wear it. The vigour of the black currant bud and the effervescence of the pink pepper gives it a zesty twist. The bouquet of heady white flowers includes orange blossom and jasmine with a slightly balsamic orchid, and finally, the warmth is thanks to the blend of sandalwood, cedar and subtle sensuous vanilla for a full-bodied richness.

Why do we like it?
Designed to do good for the planet, as much as for the person who wears it. The vegan formula contains 90 per cent of natural ingredients extracted using green chemistry from a natural origin, then distilled in natural beetroot alcohol and water. The eco-conscious bottle, made from 40 per cent PCR post-consumer recycled glass with a recycled plastic cap, it's also free from colourants, stabilisers, and UV filters. Although that process alone is a labour of love for fragrance making, French French perfumer, Anne Flipo, created this scent with minimalist and cheerful words in mind, and we think the result stands as an ode to well-being. So if you are craving a fresh green fragrance right now, here it is. To me, it smells like bottled-up sunshine, a celebration of freedom and possibility - with the hope of summer adventures to come.
Another designer expression of loving our true selves.
