With Black Friday, lockdown sales and Christmas shopping looming, one beauty brand is keen to slow down our irrational purchases by offering value shopping during November. Read on to learn more. By editor Trudi Brewer.
If you haven't heard about or tried the skincare offering from The Ordinary, then November is the month to do so. Owned by parent company DECIEM, they have renamed November, 'Slowvember’ as an anti-Black Friday campaign offering 23 per cent savings across all their skincare brands including Niod, Hylamide, HIF and The Chemistry Brand. The Ordinary one of my faves is clinically-focused to deliver active skincare in simple, no-frills packaging. The number one value for this brand, “To celebrate integrity in its most humble and true form.” Their top sellers contain buzz ingredients that offer game-changing skin benefits, every woman should know about. A few feature in on my list of all-time favourite products that I have been using since the brand's debut. So to 'Slowvember' Instead, of traditionally joining the frenzy of Black Friday sales that are on offer for one day only, DECIEM will not be trading on November 26th, the website will take a pause, as will their stores around the world, and they will stop the shopping and take back Black Friday. They believe this will give customers time to focus on connections over transactions, encouraging mindful moments that bring people together and celebrate the beauty of slowing down.
Some of my favourite The Ordinary products
The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, $14. The Ordinary Buffet, $27. The Ordinary Serum Foundation, in 21 shades $12. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, $19.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, $. The Ordinary Buffet, $
If you’re new to The Ordinary, 'Slowvember’ is the month to give the brand in November. Launching an Anti-Black Friday campaign The Ordinary is taking back Black Friday, one day when sales traditionally go nuts. They are renaming November, Slowvember, offering 23 per cent savings across all brands and products for the entire month. Instead, November 26th will celebrate 'Take Back Black Friday', offering customers time to focus on connections over transactions, encouraging mindful moments that bring people together and celebrating the beauty of slowing down.
