His fashion has been described as understated glamour, and his floral fragrances are powdery yet fresh. American fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez has named his latest creation Cristal, which has all the hallmarks of a classic Rodriguez scent. Yet, this time it's also an eco-conscious fragrance, with 85 per cent of the ingredient sourced from natural origin. The ethically sourced bergamot and upcycled rose distilled in water give this fragrance a tart uniqueness. While the traditional musk, an ever-present ingredient in all Rodriguez scents, helps it to last at least six hours on your wrist. Housed in the famous boldly cut, cube-shaped bottle, this newbie is in peachy pink - will take pride in place in any summer wardrobe.

WHAT'S IN IT?
The spring-like burst of freesia, orange blossom and bergamot are the first impressions of this scent, and then the musky rose, and jasmine blend starts to unfold. Then the medley of cashmeran, cedar and amber ground those fresh florals. Finally, the vanilla-like benzoin (a gum resin from the bark of South American Styrax trees) adds creamy warmth and woodiness to perfectly balance.
WHY DO WE LIKE IT?
Fragrance, unlike fashion, is something that never dates. I have said this before, but a designer scent is a quality yet affordable purchase that, unlike a handbag or dress, you can wear it every day. However, when it's musk-laden, it instantly becomes mysterious. Add those breezy florals without that cloying sweetness, and in the case of the new Cristal, you have a recipe that I can summarise in one word - magnificence.
A designer scent laced with vanilla.
