What's in it?
The mix of understated yet tart pear hits all of the right notes for me, and it's the first fresh burst of scent that hits you when you spray on this fragrance. Add the blend of black currant, strawberry and pink pepper; with honeysuckle, and it's a warm fruity masterpiece. The peony, Lily-of-the-valley and musky rose are rounded off perfectly by the woody scent of cedar. It's a clever, floral fragrance presented in a new fruity way.
Why do we like it?
I gravitate toward fresh, citrusy scents, and this new edition to the Burberry collection is exactly that. If you like dressing up for the cold weather but want a fragrance that reminds you of summer, here it is. Burberry is clever at offering playful iterations of past perfumes, and this new au de toilette in its tea-green glass bottle is a nod to the fruit of the moment, pear. It does capture the spontaneous and spirited nature of Burberry. Yet it's still classically British and understated. After an hour of wear, it has that 'freshly washed skin scent' vibe. Perfect worn with a crisp white t-shirt, jeans and a lightweight trench, which happens to be my go-to fashion look on any warm afternoon in autumn.
