Brow trends

Brows have always been the focal point of any face. But when it comes to specific trends, this year, it’s all about enhancing your natural shape and fullness, which is more inspiring than trying to follow fashion. After all, this aligns with a broader shift in beauty towards individuality and self-acceptance. Editor Trudi Brewer shares the looks and the tools to make the most of your best assets.

From lamination to gel, powder, pomade and micro pencils, there are many ways to sculpt and tame your natural brow shape. The best news: today, the trends that will stand the test of time are refreshingly natural. Read on to choose your brow look for 2025.

Micro sculpted

According to the runway and red carpet trends, the micro brow is making a significant comeback. Great news for anyone with naturally thin or over-plucked brows: This is the time to show them off.
If you want a thinner arched brow, start by grooming brows with a clean, dry spoolie and brush upwards and outwards, then fill the brow in the same direction with your favourite pencil, creating light, hairlike strokes.

1000HR 3-in-1 Brow Pencil, $20.

This is one tool every woman who wants to groom their brows must own - and it’s the only tool to take when you travel. Why? It does it all with a precision tip to fill in natural-looking strokes, mimicking hair-like strokes, adds volume with powder, and the gel sets brows in place. It’s your everything brow tool. There are four shades. Pictured here is Light Brown.

fox tox brows

Fox tox is the latest buzz around brow beauty. The procedure involves injecting a tox (such as Botox Xeomin or Dysport) to raise the brows and the outer corners of the eyes, giving you a fox-like lifted look. The goal is to strike a youthful balance that subtly gives your brows a noticeable lift, and before you say, it’s not for me; this lifted look goes beyond a youthful brow. Especially good for oval, round, and heart-shaped faces to enhance the cheekbones and define the jawline. To achieve this look without the injectables, start with the brow basics like a good spoolie and use it to brush your brow hairs upward and outward. Then, use clear eyebrow gel in upward strokes to lock the hairs. Next, define the tail with a brow pencil, elongating that tail to give a slightly upward, foxy-like finish.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Clear Brow Gel, $41.

A transparent gel that dries clear, with no flaking or white residue. It keeps hairs in place with a flexible hold that never feels stiff. Thanks to chamomile and hyaluronic acid, it’s also uber-conditioning. Expect well-groomed brows that do not move.

Sun-Kissed Brows

This look is all about softness. As the name suggests, the trend uses lightened brows to frame the face and give it a touch of warmth. Unlike bleached eyebrows, the sun-kissed style is a glowy, soft brown, not overly defined eyebrows, which is natural and super flattering. Achieving a sun-kissed brow look is best left to the professionals, as it involves lightening the brows a couple of shades; however, if you’re not ready to commit to a salon-finish, you can sport this trend with a brow powder or gel a shade or two lighter than your natural brow colour.

Jane Iredale PureBrow Brow Powder, $46.

This new ultra-fine powder is ideal for filling gaps in sparse brows and contouring. It’s vegan, and nourishing vitamin B5 and glycerin help condition every hair. There are six shades, pictured here. Ash Blonde is ideal for giving a lighter look to brow hair.

Feathered brows

Looking for a softer edge? Feathered brows enhance your natural brow shape, creating a diffused, grown-out look that will be popular this year. To mimic the style, brow gel is a must-have. It gently lifts the brow's tail upwards and keeps the hairs in place.

Morphe Supreme Brow Sculpting & Shaping Wax, $15.

This clear gel is stacked with nourishing meadowfoam seed oil to prevent the gel from drying out and flaking. It adds brilliant hold and leaves a glossy sheen on brows all day.

Laminated brows

While you may not be ready to commit to a lamination treatment in a spa or salon, you can recreate that sleek look with the help of brow gel. To get that polished appearance, apply brow gel in the opposite direction of your hair growth, combing upwards at the front and sculpting at the tail. Lay down any unruly hairs, and you will wear a laminated-looking brow just like that.
