If you’re struggling with sparse brows, we have entered an age where you don’t have to live with that. From correcting over-plucked brows to precision grooming. Here’s my answer to the brows you have always dreamed of - you can thank me later.

According to Dr Craig Ziering, hair restoration specialist, “We lose hair on our brows just like we lose hair on our heads.” That’s sobering. He says, “After the normal growth cycle, our brow hair can come back thinner and more sparse. However, thinning brows can be a sign of a condition like eczema, alopecia or an under-active thyroid, all of which can cause you to lose your hair.”

NUDE BY NATURE 100% NATURAL CONTOUR EYE PENCIL, $25.

The fastest way to fill those gaps and add the illusion of fullness is using a brow pencil. This 100 per cent natural formula, glides on brows and the handy smudge tip helps blend any hard lines. It’s also loaded with active natural ingredients including mango and macadamia oils, to boost brow hair growth and shine. There are six shades.

Tip: Make sure you get the colour right, by matching your brow hair colour, and keep the pencil sharp so you can create short, fine, feathery strokes.

Overplucking is common, but it’s also one of the biggest reasons for hair loss off brow hair. I rate a professional brow grooming session. This helps you get the best shape, and style to suit your face, and helps you with overplucking. Remember the brow hair growth rate shortens where you have overplucked your brows, and comes back shorter and thinner. Invest in a hair strengthening brow growth serum.

RevitaBrow Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner Serum, $159.

Multiple experts rate RevitaBrow as a top pick. It contains hair-loving peptides, biotin, lipids, and panthenol( vitamin B5), which together condition and strengthens brow hair while preventing brittleness and leading to shine and fullness.

Brow microblading is life-changing. Also known as Feather Touch Brows, this service transforms thin, sparse brows. As you age, the density of your brows changes. Although the hairs may still be growing, they start to appear thin and faded in colour, or wiry and sparse (like mine). See my recent before and after here. This technique craves fine, hair-like strokes to deposit semi-permanent pigment into the skin. I swear by this beauty service. Microblading is the most natural-looking way to define the shape and fatten your eyebrows, so your brows frame your face and draw attention to your eyes. Once you find the right brow artist they have the power to create the perfect shape, arch and brow tail. This beauty service can help create the brows you were born with - you won’t regret it, I promise. Expect to pay from $500.

Brow lamination or what OFF & ON call a brow lift, I absolutely rate this service for boosting your brow hair from the roots, giving your entire face a lift. Essentially it’s a brow perm, that helps give direction to your brows, allowing you to have well-groomed-looking brows, with minimal effort. Also, it’s a speedy, fabulous treatment you can have during your lunch break. The OFF & ON Lash Lift and Colour, costs $95.

Finally, brow gel is my desert island product and the best hard-working addition to any beauty routine. It helps keep your brows in place all day and defines every hair to give brilliant definition and lift. No woman should be without brow gel in my humble opinion.

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Gel, $48.

Simple stroke the brush upward through your brows and this magic tinted gel that contains tiny microfibers that stick to each hair to create natural-looking fluffy brows - it’s game-changing.
