NARS has a new Light Reflecting Foundation

Are you on the hunt for the perfect foundation? You’re not alone. The road to complexion perfection can be bumpy with any foundation (whether applied by a professional or DIY), says editor Trudi Brewer. Here she shares an illuminating makeup that is hard to beat right now.

What is it?

A hybrid makeup with skincare benefits, including a biomimetic oat extract that calms the skin and reduces the look of redness. Japanese lily turf extract and milk thistle, are there to protect the skin against the environment while strengthening the barrier, keeping moisture in and nasties out. Finally, and most importantly, light-reflecting prism-like particles that enhance the look of skin luminosity. That clever technology combined with algae extracts and Polynesian seawater drenches the skin with moisture and minerals to further boost clarity.

Nars Light Reflecting Foundation, $80.

One big plus with Nars is their inclusive, and diverse shade offering. This launch is no different, there are 36 colours our editor wears Fiji.

Why do I like it?

First up, I am a Nars makeup fan. So I had high expectations with this newbie, and I was not disappointed. Depending on the coverage, I can use my fingers, a foundation brush or a beauty blender to apply it, go great flexible. The only downside is that it is without SPF, so do remember to layer sunscreen under this foundation for day wear. As far as living up to the hype, it's one foundation I would repurchase. The brand says this is makeup that looks like skin, acts like skincare, and feels light as air - I agree.
