If you love Nude by Nature’s cult makeup products, you’re going to want to try the new high-performance 100 per cent clean skincare, too, says editor Trudi Brewer. Here she shares how it promises to revitalise and nourish your skin naturally.
If clean skincare has taught me one thing, it's that my daily routine does not need to be complicated. However, clean and simple doesn't mean basic or non-effective; many clean beauty brands are just as potent as their chemical counterparts, and the new Nude by Nature skincare is one. Dermatologically tested and stacked with ingredients plucked fresh from nature with ten clinically proven products. So to the ingredients, there are ten that feature in the formulas, including plants, nut oils and ocean algae that are wild-harvested by local communities across Australia. But it's more about what's not in the formulas making news. Free from parabens, silicones, synthetics, sulphates, mineral oil, PEGS (petroleum-based compounds), phthalates or EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid for foam enhancement), and finally, instead of synthetic preservatives, the brand has used a unique plant-based preservative system proven to be effective, safe and non-irritating. Packaged in recyclable cartons made with FSC certified board, this range is safe for people and the planet.
Here are my favourites from the range
Nude by Nature Hydrating Cream Cleanser, $28.
In winter, I prefer a creamy cleanser, but this luxurious hard-working face wash offers more than moisture while cleansing. The shea butter esters, coconut oil and lemon aspen become creamy on contact with water and then the lactic acid kicks in to give the skin a gentle exfoliation at the same time.
Nude by Nature Hydrating Toner Mist, $23.
I have never toned my skin, rightly or wrongly. Still, I love using a facial mist. This is stacked with active natural ingredients, including the heavenly-scented, calming Damascena rose water, Lilly Pilly and Quandong, which are rich in antioxidants, and essential fatty acids to revitalise and instantly hydrate the skin.
Nude by Nature Renewal Daily Facial Oil, $45.
I’m a sucker for a luxe-y face oil. This ultra-lightweight oil is made from MagNUT sense oil, rich in natural selenium, antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamin E. Grapeseed oil the sustainable algae extract called Ocea Defence, which strengthens the skin against environmental assaults. Together these ingredients smooth, hydrate and protect the skin.
Nude by Nature Eye Cream, $45.
This eye cream delivers a potent shot of firming natural peptides from the unique bioactive concentrate to help correct puffiness under dark eye circles and fine lines. Made from 40 pure plant-derived active ingredients, they are nourishing and an antioxidant boost at the same time. It's also a cream that plays nice under makeup.
Nude by Nature Restoring Night Cream, $50.
You will want to slather on this rich, fragrance-free face cream at night because of the active natural ingredients. Including lingonberry, shea butter esters, meadowfoam seed oil, and antioxidant-rich Kahai oil. This oil is the next buzz ingredient for its high concentration of vitamin A – which is a natural and safe retinol, ideal if you have an uneven or dull complexion. It effectively improved dryness overnight; plus, the radiance boost my skin was sporting in the morning was a nice bonus.
