Manicare Crystal Hair Remover, $45.

Hair removal is fraught. While there are plenty of options, not all are fast. While shaving is the quickest, let’s face it, a day later, fresh stubble is rough to touch. There’s waxing (but no one likes doing that at home), laser hair removal is brilliant but costly, and it’s a commitment in time to get results. So until now, an instant solution for body hair removal has evaded us - until now. Enter this clever crystal hair remover that immediately removes hair and is especially helpful when you suffer from ingrown hair. Read on to find out how to use it.

Why do we like it

This is one hell of a body exfoliator that removes short hair swiftly and painlessly. Its charm is the ergonomic shape that moulds into your hand for the perfect grip. Then the ultra-fine crystal plate buffs off body hair in record time, ideal if you shave or wax but have patchy results. It’s also a good DIY option for extending the time between laser treatments because you’re not plucking hair from the roots, stimulating growth. While removing hair the skin also gets a light exfoliation, so if you use self-tan, it’s the ideal time to refresh your golden glow.

the Step-by-step guide

  • Shower and ensure your skin is completely dry and cleansed of body oil or creams.

  • Use ultra-light pressure; this is essential. Don’t use this like an exfoliating mitt, or you will graze your skin. Instead, lie the Crystal Hair Remover flat on the skin and move across the skin in a circular motion. Be careful over bony bits like ankles and wrists. Feel the skin as you go; to see if you need to repeat the area; you will see the hair balling up on the tool. It’s excellent for arms (I hate the fluffy hair on my arms), legs, and the bikini line. But not the face.

  • Rinse your skin and the Crystal Hair Remover after use, and only use this tool once or twice weekly.

  • Never use the Crystal Hair Remover on inflamed, cracked, or freshly waxed skin.
