GIVENCHY GENTLEMAN SOCIETY from $159 to $221.
Think fresh with creamy, with woody boldness. The cardamon and sage are a brilliant combination, and the soft spring-like French narcissus (like a daffodil) gives this scent an addictive softness. Vanilla, cedar and sandalwood round off what is a very sexy fragrance.
BURBERRY HERO EDT, from $133 to $186.
The first fragrance for Burberry creative head Riccardo Tisci is a fresh celebration for this classic British brand. His vision is a woody scent that is enigmatic and adventurous. Embracing strength, athleticism and creativity - sound like your guy? This Hero has bergamot essence and a blend of cedarwood, black pepper and juniper, a scent combination designed to help you breathe, reset and stress less.
Stan Walker Human EDT 50ml, $70.
New Zealand designer Jakob Carter created this fashion fragrance as a tribute to one of New Zealand’s most celebrated musical talents, Stan Walker. A gorgeous scent that celebrates the best of being human. Inspired by the struggle many people face with mental health, it was born from a conversation between friends. "It's not easy, but it's okay, not to be okay. It's okay to go through what you are feeling; at the end of the day, we are all human. To seek and feel the human inside all of us. To open up and heal,” says Stan Walker. The scent is loaded with a bracing blend of bergamot, grapefruit, woody geranium, and tangy orange flowers. Then softened of amber, patchouli, tree moss and musky tonka bean.
Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme Vetiver EDT Intense, from $125 to $174
Famous for making fresh aromatic men’s scents, this latest offering from Issey Miyake is laced with vetiver, sourced from Haïti and is 100 per cent of natural origin. It brings the woody aroma, warmed by spicy ginger and tangy sage. This vegan scent is housed in a 20 per cent recycled glass bottle with a natural ash wood cap. This newbie blends the purity of water with sensory woods to bring the best from Mother Nature.
Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera says you can expect a “fusion of mineral sexiness and wild freshness” with this Bad Boy. Featuring pink pepper tempered by geranium with a dash of heady truffle and smoky oakwood. Ethically sourced vetiver and sexy cedarwood add a bold energy heightened by citrus. This scent is as intriguing as the bottle, an iconic lightning bolt coloured in graduated cobalt blue.
PACO RABANNE 1 MILLION ROYAL EDp, 100ml $159.
Paco Rabanne describes this newbie as flamboyant, fresh and woody. Featuring mandarin, bergamot, and cardamom, with the juxtaposition of violet leaves, lavender, and sage. It’s a bold statement that once it settles on the skin, it has a lightness that makes it a year-round scent for any occasion.
VERSACE Eros Pour Homme Parfum, 100ml $241.
This scent should come with a warning. It’s bloody gorgeous. From the heavy, luxe-y bottle to the vibrant freshness that blends mint leaves, lemon zest and green apple. I won’t stop there; if sage, lavender, and, of course, Italian lemon, mandarin, black pepper, tonka bean, amber, geranium flower and vanilla don’t get you excited, the blend of cedarwood, vetiver and oakmoss will. While it may sound complicated, it’s every bit a classic, spicy and oh-so woody - one-word, unforgettable.
The latest rosy designer scent.
